Terms for neighbor posts
These terms cover posts that residents write on /neighbors. Everything else on the site is gathered from public sources and credited to them.
Who can post
Anyone with an account and a verified email address. Posts appear under your account name. An admin reads every post before it goes up and may decline or later remove any post.
What you can share
- Only things you wrote, photos you took, or material you have permission to share.
- No copying articles, flyers or photos from other sites or publishers. Link to them instead.
- No harassment, threats, personal information about others (addresses, phone numbers, license plates), or anything illegal.
- No advertising beyond a neighbor’s own yard sale, lost-and-found, or small local offer.
Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you let us display it on this site and in its feeds for as long as it is up. You can ask us to take your post down at any time.
Copyright complaints
If you believe a post infringes your copyright, send a notice through the copyright page. We remove material that is the subject of a valid notice and tell the person who posted it, who may send a counter-notice.
Repeat infringers
Each post removed after a valid copyright notice counts against the account that posted it. After 3 such removals, the account can no longer post. We may also close posting sooner for clear, deliberate infringement.
Scanner logs
The scanner daily logs and event pages are automated summaries of unencrypted public-safety radio (police, fire, EMS and public works) heard in and around Villa Hills. They are written by a computer, not a reporter, and may be wrong. They do not name people on purpose, and they give places only to the street or block. To ask for a correction or for an entry to be removed, use the “Request a correction or removal” link at the bottom of the event’s page.

Neighbor posts are the opinions and reports of the people who wrote them, not of The Carpenter’s Trace Journal. For emergencies call 911.
